'Tis the Season

Getting ready for Christmas......

Leta loves the lights

Wheres the pup?

The finished product...

Learning to make Sugar cookies...

Leta was so much fun this year. My parents got her some small gifts to open for the Twelve days of Christmas so by the time Christmas rolled around she was an expert present opener.
Christmas Eve Jayme's parents took us to the Chipmunks the Squeekual ( cute movie, but not as good as the first one) and like the Princess and the Frog movie Leta enjoyed the singing and dancing. Afterwards we went to Denny's ( We where celebrating Jayme's Birthday a day late). So by the time we got home Leta was asleep in her car seat, but luckily she woke up when we brought her inside so I had her open her special Christmas Eve present ( Pj's of course). Then it was time to read the Christmas Story out of the Bible and The Night Before Christmas Story, it was fun to pass on family traditions.

Christmas morning was equally fun. Only problem was I gave Leta her stocking to inspect while daddy woke up so when it came time to open presents it took some coaxing to get the stocking away from her. And of course she wanted to open mommy and daddies present first so then she was to excited to open anymore( we got her a cell phone put out by Parents, Awesome toy!!). But before long she had them opened and was happy with all of it.

Jayme and I opted not to get presents for each other this year since we had and elk butchered and car repairs to pay for. But the parents got us some awesome presents. Jaymes mom got me a cake pan with a lid, which I have been wanting for years, and it was even personalized! And some much needed Tupperware. My mom got me some new PJ's and some super cute slippers and some scrap booking stuff. Jayme also got some PJ's and slippers and from his folks a solar powered/ crank powered emergency radio. Leta of course was spoiled by everyone. She got a super cute Ladybug tent/tunnel from Grandma and Grandpa Allen. And From my Mom she got a shopping cart with groceries and a play milk carton that you put cookies into and when you drop them out it moos.

We tried to deliver cookies to everyone we where close to but money and time ran out. This year we where super blessed with goodies from friends we received everything from goodie plates and jams of all varieties to a blanket! Thanks to all our awesome friends.

All in all it was a great Christmas Season, but I am glad for downtime and normal life to resume.

Over The HIll to Grandmas house!

Okay so I am playing catch up ...The first part of the month we decided to Go to my Parents in Idaho for a few days, a late Thanksgiving early Christmas visit.
We always enjoy ourselves and get spoiled with trips to the movies and out to eat (When your on a tight budget these our treats [: )
Leta loves her Grandparents and Aunt Katie, and all of the fun animals around there place.

Leta is continuing to amaze me everyday! She can reach all the drawers now in my kitchen and bathrooms so instead of just having disarray to my cupboards its my drawers as well.
She is trying to cut a molar so our nights have been a bit on the horrendous side, but during the day she is usually my little sunshine still.

A good laugh for all :0

Three Wise Women

You do know what would have happened if it had been three wise WOMEN instead of three wise men, don't you?

They would have asked for directions, arrived on time, helped deliver the baby, cleaned the stable, made a casserole, and brought practical gifts.

A Christmas Reminder...

Santa Clause came to town!

The first meeting with Santa was unexpected and she was unsure of what to think, but by the second picture (which was planned) she had determined that Good o'le St. Nick was a man to fear and now has a deep rooted fear of the man in Red.

One Healthy Little Girl

Today was Leta's 15 month Check up. I was a bit uncomfortable with the fact that unknown to me we would be seeing a Dr. that I was not familiar with. But despite that it was a great visit and Leta is growing perfectly. Down side was she had to get shots. I was and am nervous for the chicken pox and H1N1 shots. Chicken pox seems like a normal childhood disease to me like a cold yet if I can prevent her any pain or discomfort later on I will! And I have been repeatedly told how dangerous H1N1 can be for a little one and the high respiratory risk it holds so I pray I made the right decision for her. She was brave through the first shot and was more interested in prying of the strange orange thing off her leg, but she let out a howl on her last two. Luckily the tears only lasted a few seconds. I am not sure how she will do with these ones being two of them are in her arms which she has never had before.
Another hurdle she is going through is mommy finally got brave and pulled her bottle once and for all. So far she is a trooper and taking it in stride. Now if only the Binky could be this easy, oh well we will save that challenge for next month.

Today is also our 2 yr. Temple Anniversary. More on that tomorrow its bedtime.. nightie night everyone.

Gobble, Gobble

I am so excited now that thanksgiving is behind us I can look forward to the best holiday ever, Christmas!!
Not that the Thanksgiving season doesn't have its perks. When else can you eat yourself sick and not feel guilty for one bite, or wake up the next day at the crack of dawn just to join a bunch of Lunatics running around the store like mad people! I go for more the enjoyment of seeing how serious people get over the silliest material object than the sales ( not that I didn't snag a few things).

And the best part of the Thanksgiving is the weekend trip up the mountain for a tree. This year we got my Aunt one and my Mom in-laws so we didn't find the perfect tree just yet.

I hope that every one Else's Thanksgiving was as perfect as ours and that you remembered to pause and run through a few things your Thankful for. Some of my Thanks our for my family and especially my own little family and the blessing of good health and happiness we have been blessed with. And most of all for my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ who has been so mindful of us lately!

Go Fetch!

So this may seem like a silly thing to blog about but I found it funny.
Jaymes brother and his family are visiting from Germany and there little girl is 18 days younger than Leta which makes for some fun entertainment. Leta is a bit possessive of her territory and gets aggravated that someone is in it so we have had to break up a few heated moments where Leta would push her and say STOP! or where she would bop her on the head. But for the really funny part Leta and Kaylee where playing one morning and Leta threw one of Shasta's ball and looked at Kaylee and when she didn't retrieve it Leta retrieved it and once again threw it with the same results finally the third attempt she threw it and turned to Kaylee and gently nudged her and said GO!. It cracked me up she has never said that before! She loves playing fetch with Shasta and thought it was rather rude Kaylee wouldn't play as well :)
Everyday she seems to grow up so much. She is constantly learning new words and signs..She can say Moe for More, A Dun for all done, Stop or stop it, No, Go, Dog, Mom, dada, Hey, hi and for signs we have mastered milk/drink, eat, sleep, bath, please, thank you.. I am sure theres more but that's the main ones we say and do so far. This is age is so rewarding which is good considering the work it requires.

Lord*Grant*me*Patience

A favorite poem of mine has been on my mind allot the past couple of days it reads as follows..

My life is but a weaving
between my God and me
I let him choose the colors
he worketh steadily
ofttimes he worketh
sorrow
And I within my heart
forget he sees the pattern
while I see only part
the dark threads were as
needful
in the weavers skillful hand
as the threads of gold and
silver
in the pattern he had planned
not till the loom is silent
and shuttles cease to
fly
shall God unroll the canvas
and explain the reason why

Okay so it sounds more doom and gloom than it really is, but I like how it explains we see only part while he sees the pattern and we may not know the reason why. I have been struggling with a few things some I don't feel like announcing to my fellow bloggers but for example is my constant worry of what others think of my parenting and domestic skills. I know I am a dang good mother and I am doing the best I can to teach her the ways of the Gospel and life, but what do others see? Am I the only one who sits in church and worry about what others are thinking as they smile at me? Okay this makes me sound a tad paranoid and a little pathetic :)
I just struggle with self doubt when there is something I am wanting and when I don't receive it I react by thinking what am I doing wrong that disqualifies me to deserve this?
I am not fishing for compliments or a pat on the back rather a listening ear as I vent, I already feel better. Thank Goodness for blogging ;)
Being The time of Thanks I want to close with Thanks to my Heavenly Father who really does know the desires of my heart and knows what is best not only for me, but our little family and I need to learn a little patience in his planning!

ReAsOns I lOvE mY hUsBanD

So I just got done reading a friends post who made a list of things she loved about her husband. And it got me thinking that I needed to stop and put down a few things I love about my husband. After putting up with me this week he deserves something!

#1. He holds the Priesthood and honors it

#2. No matter what I look like he thinks I am the most beautiful women in the world

#3. When Life gets real messy he will crack a joke to make me laugh and realize life goes on

#4. He is an amazing daddy and would do anything for his little girl.

#5. He has great work ethic and provides great for our little family

#6. No matter who needs help whether it be a neighbor or family he will step up or find someone who is available

#7. He has an endless supply of patience

I could go on and on but for the sake of anyone reading I will end it with he is an amazing man through and through and I am glad we have an eternity to spend together!

So we have been trying to get family pictures done for awhile now but due to hunting, weather, illness and work we never got around to it. Finally on Sunday we dashed out and got a few good pictures and despite the fact I had been real sick the week before and Leta teething and needing a nap we still got some I was happy with. Thanks Caitlin you rock!!
