WeLcOme To The WoRld EmmA!!

My Sisters scheduled c-section was for the 19th but apparently Emma didn't get that memo and decided today was the day! So after a getting a time picked we sat back to wait then the nurse came and said her Dr. had another patient in labor and didn't want to risk both happening at once so it was decided my sister would go in right away and get hers out of the way. So once she was back there and getting prepped for a spinal another nurse runs in saying to stop another Dr's. patient was having complications and needed a emergency c-section. So she was returned to her room for another hour, before finally little Emma Lynn made her debut into the world in perfect health
weighing 7 lbs 10 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long!
The part I find amazing is she went two days early
and was bumped up early and then bumped back
again. It turns out the Mom who was in the emergency
was the sister of a really good friend of Jayme's and I's!
What a small world. Two people I know ended up having
baby girls back to back in the same hospital all because of
a chain of events leading to that one big moment....

Mama's Little Helper~

These Days everything tends to take a bit longer than it should. Whether it be dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, feeding the pets it doesn't matter, Leta like to be in the thick of it "helping mama".
But the one thing that I actually enjoy her helping me on is baking! I know, I know it's messy but I love watching her delight in the new textures and tastes of things. I give her her own bowl with flour and chocolate chips or whatever I am cooking with and she goes to town with it.
she is such a character as soon as she caught on that I thought she was silly with flour all over she purposely started wiping it on her face and saying cheee (her way of saying cheese for the camera).

My Silly Girl

Leta has always been such a ham. From the time she was just teeny she could make so many different faces and expressions. And lately her new thing is her "cheese face" when ever we pull out the camera she pulls this face. It cracks me up the stuff she comes up with.
We recently bought her two fish pillows for her new bed, but she decided they where perfect companions for her crib. So some nights the only way to get her to sleep is piling these two big fishes in with her so she can bury herself in them.
She is so grown up these days I feel like I can't keep up with her. Her talking has taken a huge leap this month as well as her signs. The words she says most are...
*Yes
*Yay!
*Shast
*mama
*Dad
*No
*Stop
*Bad
*Fish
*horse
*Shoes
*Boots
*Poo
*ball
*juice
*MOOOO
*Cock-a-doodle doo
*book
*Vroom
*Bye Bye
*Hi
*Amen
That's not all of them but it's late. She can sign just as much if not more than that. But I won't make you read two lists :)
Potty Training is still a day to day thing. Some days where both on board and we do great other days one of us is lacking the motivation. But all in all she is showing progress and doing good. She has taken an interest in babies and loves to play mommy and will rock her baby and give it a bottle and burp it. Jayme asked her the other day if she wanted a baby brother or sister to join our family and she shouted, YES! To cute.
And just to brag for a minute ;) She now can fold her arms for prayer and say amen and point out Jesus in her books!
Okay enough bragging for one post, now its your turn whats some things your wee ones have done lately that makes you one proud mama (or Daddy)?
